Morning Lecture Only

Introduction to Laser Dentistry

8:00–10:00 AM

A 2-hour educational session focused on introducing laser dentistry, clinical considerations, safety principles, and the training pathway.

Explore foundational laser concepts and safety principles
Learn about potential clinical applications within dental hygiene
Gain perspective on incorporating laser technology into practice
Better understand the education and certification pathway
Receive a CE certificate upon completion of the morning course

Full-Day Course

Laser Training & Certification

8:00 AM–Approximately 5:00 PM

Includes the morning Introduction to Laser Dentistry lecture followed by supervised hands-on laser training.

Includes the full morning educational session
Continues into supervised hands-on laser training
Limited to 20 eligible licensed dental hygienists
Laser equipment will be available for hands-on training
Participants are not required to own or bring a laser
Participants may have the opportunity to work with different laser systems during hands-on training
Separate online certification requirements and fees apply

Course Agenda

The morning lecture is open to both registration options. Full-Day participants will continue into the clinical and hands-on portions of the program.

Hands-On Laser Training — equipment orientation, technique, tissue exercises, and instructor-guided practice

Understanding the Full Laser Certification Pathway

The October 10 full-day course is one component of the broader certification pathway.

Online Foundations Course

The pathway includes a separate 6-hour online foundations course with quizzes provided by Angie Wallace. CDHA participants will have access to a special discounted rate of $150, paid separately from CDHA registration.

In-Person Education & Hands-On Training

Attend the October 10 Laser Training & Certification Full-Day Course, including the morning lecture and supervised hands-on laser training.

Complete Certification Requirements

Participants must complete all required coursework, assessments, and hands-on training within the applicable completion timeframe. Final instructions will be provided to registered participants.

Important: CDHA registration covers the selected October 10 in-person course only. The 6-hour online foundations course is provided separately by Angie Wallace and is not hosted or administered by CDHA. CDHA participants will receive access to the special $150 rate. The online course fee is paid separately from CDHA registration.

Introduction to Laser Dentistry

8:00–10:00 AM morning lecture. Ideal for those interested in learning more about laser dentistry without participating in hands-on training.

Laser Training & Certification

ADHA Member: $625
Nonmember: $700

Full-day course from 8:00 AM to approximately 5:00 PM, including the morning lecture and hands-on training. Limited to 20 eligible licensed dental hygienists.

Priority Registration

Full-Day registration is currently open exclusively to individuals who joined the Laser CE Priority List. Eligible participants will receive their private registration link directly by email. If seats remain after the priority registration period, remaining availability will be released publicly.

Course Preparation

Preparing for October 10

A few details to help you prepare for your selected course experience.

Course Reference Materials

Participants will receive course reference materials electronically as a PDF.

You are welcome to bring a laptop, tablet, or other device to reference the materials during the course, or print a copy in advance if you prefer a physical version.

Printed course materials will not be provided on-site.

Laser Equipment

Ultradent will provide 10 Gemini EVO laser units for the hands-on portion of the Full-Day Course, supporting approximately two participants per laser.

A Gemini Nova demonstration unit will also be available during the course, giving participants an opportunity to see Ultradent's newest laser platform.

You are not required to own or bring a laser to participate. Ultradent representatives will also be onsite to assist with equipment setup and general event support.

If your dental practice owns a laser that you may have access to after certification, you are encouraged to bring it when appropriate. This provides an opportunity to complete hands-on training with equipment you may use following certification.

Planning to bring a laser? You will be asked to provide the manufacturer and model during registration so Angie can prepare accordingly.

Hands-On Practice Material

The hands-on portion of the Full-Day Course will include laser practice using beef tissue.

Participants who are unable or prefer not to work with animal tissue should contact CDHA before registering so we can determine whether an appropriate alternative can be accommodated.

This practice material applies only to participants attending the hands-on portion of the Full-Day Course.
