Interstate Compact Information
Ohio enacted the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Interstate Compact in 2024 with implementation beginning in 2025. The compact creates a pathway for qualified dental hygienists licensed in participating states to obtain a “compact privilege” authorizing practice in other participating states without securing a separate traditional license in each state. Participating dental hygienists must still meet eligibility requirements and comply with the laws and scope of practice requirements established by each participating state.
