About CDHA

Cleveland is the “birthplace” of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association as well as the Ohio Dental Hygienists’ Association going back to 1923. The Cleveland Dental Hygienists’ Association is based in Cuyahoga County in the northeastern area of Ohio with Lake Erie as our northern border. The Cleveland Dental Hygienists’ Association is proud to represent not only Cuyahoga County but Erie, Huron, Lorain and Medina as well. We are here for our membership as well as every licensed dental hygienist within those counties.

The purposes of this Association shall be to improve the oral health of the public; to advance the art and science of dental hygiene; to maintain the highest standards of dental hygiene and practice; to represent and protect the interest of the dental hygiene profession; to improve the professional competence of the dental hygienist; to foster research in oral health; to provide professional communication; to publish a newsletter; and to conduct other activities as may be permitted by the State of Ohio to carry out the purposes of this Association.
